Why choose Dr Sarah For your practice?
I am a highly skilled dentist with almost 25 years experience in general practice. I have been delivering safe, patient centered sedation since 2019. I bring calm, confidence, and clinical expertise directly to your practice.
Whether you are an early-career dentist looking for a reassuring experienced presence in the room, or a seasoned surgeon tackling complex implant procedures and extraction cases who wants a reliable trusted sedation partner - I am here to support you and your patients every step of the way.
Known for my gentle, caring approach, I understand that anxious patients need more than clinical competence, they need to feel safe. The same warmth extends to the practitioners that I work with.
My goal is to integrate seamlessly into your team, giving you the freedom to focus on what you do best while I take care of everything sedation related.

What is Concious Sedation for Dentistry
Conscious sedation is defined as:
A technique in which the use of drugs produce a state of depression of the central nervous system, enabling treatment to be carried out, but during which verbal contact with the patient is maintained throughout the period of sedation.
The drugs and techniques used to provide conscious sedation for dental treatment carry a margin of safety wide enough to render loss of consciousness unlikely.
It can be seen from the definition that a patient under sedation must remain conscious, retain protective reflex and be able to understand and respond to verbal commands.
This does not stop a patient drifting off to natural sleep because such a patient can respond to verbal contact. The drugs used for conscious sedation have the ability for the patient to forget the events after the treatment is finished which could be beneficial to the patient.
Most of the patients, including young children that were referred to me for sedation have been very successfully treated and have been very satisfied.
However, there is a small percentage of patients who still cannot cope with dental treatment even with the conscious sedation.
Sedation avoids the very rare risks associated with General Anaesthetics
